TO BE FOUNDED IN CHBIST-
CHURCH.
(Pint I’iiess Association.! CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 9. The will of. the late Mrs Eliza White, of which probate has. been granted, makes bequests as previously telegraphed. ' The rest of the estate, as defined by tbe will, is to be used for tbe purpose of founding and maintaining two orphanages in Christchurch, one for the reception of destitute females, and the other for the reception of destitute male orphan children. The female orphanage is to be established first, and the male orphanage only when the trust estate shall be more than _ sufficient for the one first to be established. Each orplianage is to be placed under the immediate management of some recognised religious order in the Reman Catholic Church, approved of lor. the purpose bv the Roman Catholic .Bishop of Christchurch, but subject to. control, of trustees and tbe institution is to be' called St. Joseph’s Orphanage. Each orphanage is to_ be primarily for the reception and education of children in the Catholic religion, but no ohnSr'oi any other religious denomination is, for that reason alone, to be refused adxnisskfn, but every such child must conform to the rules of the Institution, iQ far as may be possible for a non-Catho-lic to conform thereto.
