In a case in the Criminal- Court wherein the prosecution relied on finger prints, the Chief Justice advised the jury to be very careful in accepting finger-print evidence. The opinion that no two fingers could -make the same impression was not accepted as a scientific fact. Unless other evidence supported it he considered the prints doubtful evidence on which to record a conviction. Accused was acquitted. DEDICATION OF QUEENSLAND UNIVERSITY. BRISBANE, Dec. 10.
