The child was committed to an industrial school. WELLINGTON INFECTIOUS DISEASES HOSPITAL. WELLINGTON, Dec. 11.. The City Council held a special meeting to consider a demand from the Hospital Board for £5488 as the Council’s share (amounting t-o BS-100ths) of the cost of erecting an infectious diseases hospital, the tenders for which have been closed. The Mayor protested that the new hospital was too extravagant, and ithe demand on the Council was more than it could pay. It was resolved to refuse to pay.
