PRODUCE SALES
Messrs F. S. Malcolm and Co. report the following prices realised at their produce sales on Saturday morning:—Fowls 2s to 2s lOd. ducks 2s to 2s 9d, Chickens 6d to 2s,»turkeys 7s • >d, eggs Is Id and Is 2d doz, butter t 9d and lOd lb. plums 2d lb, lemons 6d doz. gooseberries 2d lb, potatoes Id lb, rhubarb, 4d bunch, cabbages 2s to 2s 6d ■doz, peas 9d peck, onions 2d lb,- carrots and turnips Is 6d doz. bundles. Messrs Miller and Craig report the following prices realised : —Hens Is t d to 2s 3d, ducks Is lOd to 2s 6d, young •roosters averaged Is 4d, full grown do ,1s 6d to 2s lOd, chickens 8d to lOd, ’tur-'-pys 7s 6d to 9s 6d, cabbages from l.s 6d doz, (rocveberries 2d, 24d, and 3d Lb. eggs Is 3d, butter 7d to lOd lb, pumpkins 5s doz. marrows 5s 6d, spring onions 6d bundle, table onions (Melbourne) 2d lb, potatoes Id lb, plums 2d lb, kumara plants 9d bundle, rhubarb 6d bundle. A furniture and sundries sale was also held, and good prices were realised. HORSE SALES. \ Messrs Williams and Kettle yarded about 76 horses at their weekly hor,se sale on Saturday. The attendance was .good, and prices brisk. The entry included about 20 of Mr. J. Clarks Young draughts, which sold at from :£ll t-o £l6 10s. and a few hacks which fetched from £6 10s to £9. Also on ■behalf of Mr. Clark, the chestnut filly Plaything, by Monaco-Playful, was sold to Mr W.Wilson for 24£ guineas. Mr. G. Carrington’s thoroughbred mare San Lure, half-sister to Sardonyx, waseffer■cd, but passed in without eliciting a bid. Hacks realised from £2 to_ £l2, and harness horses from £6 to £l7.
