BIBLE-IN-SCHOOLS ASSOCIATION.

rRIZE DISTRIBUTION AT MANGAPAPA.

The prizes in connection with the Bible-in-Sehools Association examination were distributed at the Manga papa School yesterday afternoon by Mrs. Malcolm McLeod, in the abesnee of Mr. McLeod,: avho is in Napier. Rev. F. W. Chatterton, secretary of the. Asso.ciation,.s,aid.that in proportion te'their fell number, the Mangapapa School had the record for attendance at Bible classes. He referred to the result of the examinations a,s being most satisfactory, and expressed the hope that the children would not forget the spirit of the lessons. Rev. J. A. Lochore, who is one of the Bible teachers at tlie school, also spoke a few words. He congratulated the children on their attendance at the classes, and upon the good work done in the examinations. The discipline had been good, and the teachers had taken a great interest in the 'classes. The prize list was as follows:—Standards 4 to G. —Boys: Ben Broad-' head 93 marks, Tom Cochrane 89, John Duncan 88; girls: Gertie Gilman 94 and silver medal. Dorothy Robb and Essie .Scott 90, Myrtle Thomson 89. Standards 2 and 3.——Boys: Benito Morris 60, William Duncan 46; girls: Lily Johansen 38, Yolande Thomson 36. Attendance prizes, upper. —Florence Williamson, Olive Hensen, Nolan Ellerv, Willie Kendall, Jack Kendall, Gordon McCliskie; lower: Eric Ellery, Claude Horne, Stacey Will'an, Francis Weir. Standard 1.: Elsie Duncan, Emily Gordon, Bessie Nock, Mary Scott, Jessie Stoddart. . May Sawyer, Geoffrey Bullock, and Huia Cave. Mr. C, A. deLautour will distribute the prizes at the Gisborne School ,at 2.30 t>.m. to-morrow, and the distribution "at Kaiti School ' takes place at 2.30 ip.m. on Monday next.
