The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates’ summary and forecast: Moderate to strong westerly winds have prevailed, and light rains have fallen todav in most parts south of New Plymouth, and Napier. The lowest pressure is now reported about Kaikorua, with a depression of small 'intensity moving to the eastwards. The present indications are for a temporary rise in the barometer being followed by another low pressure in the south. Moderate to strong westerly winds will probably prevail in the north, and southerlies, changing by the west to north and increasing in the south, with unsettled and cloudy weather probable everywhere.
