KING LEOPOLD.
A RECKLESS OLD MAN. United Press Association — Corritiaiii BRUSSELS, Dec.- 13. King Leopold is suffering from rheumatism and dropsy. His health had improved, but on Saturday, despite the doctor’s orders, he insisted on driving out, and returned Avith terrible stomach pains. THE LAST SACRAMENT ADMINISTERED. (Deceived December 14, 10 p.m.) BRUSSELS, Dec. 14. The last sacraments have been administered to the King of the Belgians. He is extremely AA'eak,’ but his mind is perfectly clear. He kissed Princess Clementine, Prince Albert, and the latter’s wife. He next thanked the court officials for their constant services, and turning to his doctors, he remarked: “You think I’ll die soon, don’t you?” His daughter, Princess Louise, telegraphed asking for an interview. King Leopold replied that he would consider the matter, but his relations are doubtful Avhether he will relent and become reconciled to her.
The King Avas somewhat better last evening. The operation has been postponed until to-day. [Prince Albert is heir to the throne, and is the second son of the late Count of Flanders, King Leopold’s brother. Princes Louise is the King’s eldest daughter, and was married dn 1875 to Prince Philip of Saxe-Coburg, Tmt the marriage was dissolved in 1906. Princess Clementine is King Leopold’s third daughter, and has caused him much trouble by her extravagance and unruly conduct.]
