COOK COUNTY WOMEN’S GUILD.

ANNUAL MEETING

The second annual meeting of the Cook County Women’s Guild was held in Townley’s Hall yesterday afternoon. The President, Mrs. Townley, was in the chair, and there was a fair attendance, including the Patroness, Mrs. W. I>. Lysnar. ' The second annual report on the Maternity Home Avas presented and passed, and also the., balance-sheet, which shoAved a very satisfactory state of affairs. The report stated that during the . year the Guild had had to see to some neglected children, and this -necessitated the building of a creche, which Avas accomplished in Anvil by the aid of the CoA'ornmont aiid the gift of a section. The creche A\ r as getting on satisfactorily. The election of officers took place as fnlloAA’s: Patroness, the Mayoress. Mrs W. D. Lysnar; president, Mr. Toavmley; vice-presidents, Mesdames Grai ham, Maynard, and Melksham ; treas - urer, Mrs. ToAvnley; secretary, Mrs. Scott; minute secretary, Mrs. Walker. A vote of thanks AA’as accorded to Mr. J. R. Kirk, and he Avas unanimously re-elected legal adviser. It Avas decided that Lady Ward should b-e asked to open the Maternity Home, Avhen it Avas finished. - Next Tuesday a: ugav Aviug is to be opened in the Children’s Homo, and it Avas decided that everyone attending should bring provisions. Afternoon tea and a musical programme Avill be given. Votes of thanks Avere passed to Mr. Little, who dreAv the plans for the Creche free of charge, and to the committee of the Patntnlii Hall Avlm granted the use of the Hall on November 9th.
