PRODUCE SALES
The produce sales were well attended on Saturday morning in view of the Christinas season. The demand for poultrv was especially good. Messrs Miller and Craig report as follows: Chickens 7d to Is; cockerels Is to Is 9d; roosters Is 6d to 2s 3d; hens Is 9d to 2s; ducks 2s 3d to 2s icl ; geese 6 S 3d, eggs Is, butter Bd, 9d, and 10d; kumera .plants 6d, potatoes Id lb; lemons 7d and 8d doz., .plums l|d lb; rhubarb 4d bunch, turnips Is 4d doz. bundles. , , , _ , Messrs F. S. Malcolm and Co. rqport as follows: Hens Is 6d to 2s 3d, ducks Is 6d to 2s 6d; turkeys 4s 6d to Ss: roosters Is 6d to 2s 6d; eggs Is Id a-nd Is 2d, large entry, nearly 500 dozen; butter 8d to lOd; feed maize 2s 6d bushel, potatoes Id 1b.,; plums 5s to is ease; small vegetables at usual prides. A very successful furniture sale on account of Mrs F. Hooper, Kaiti, uas held on Friday last. '
LONDON MARKETS. United Press Association— Copyright. LONDON, Dec. 17. Wheat: Twenty-seven thousand .quarters of .Australian January shipment, and a cargo sold at 39s net; 10,000 quarters of December sold at 39s 6d. At the sheepskin sales 5350 bundles were offered. There was a good attendance, and fairly good competition. Merino clothings sold at par to id lower. Crossbred combings sold at par to id higher. The next sale will he held on the 20th January.
