BIBLE-IN-SCHOOLS.
PRESENTATION OF PRIZES AT ICAITI SCHOOL.
Yesterday afternoon the prizes in connection with the examination under the auspices of the Bible-in-Schools Teachers’ Association wore presented to those who had won them by Mr. C. A. deLautour. The Rev. W. Grant, one of the Bible teachers, wa s also present.
Mr. deLautour, in addressing the scholars, congratulated them, as- well as the teachers, on the results obtained. and also pointed out the groat amount of benefit accruing from the proper study of the Bible. The Rev. W. Grant also addressed the children upon the advantages of Biblical knowledge.
The prize-winner* are as follows: — Upper Classes, Standard 4-6: Silver medal (presented by Mr. G. Darton), May Black 94; boys, Travers Morgan Doris Hulme 87, 1 ; Christina Baty’ S 6, 2. Attendance prizes: Nellie Fairlie (standard 4), Grace Horne (standard 4). Lower Classes, standard* 2-3: Pat Nolan 87, 1; Sydney Cleary and Ada Bell 82, 2; Geof. Outhbert 81, 3; Charles Fraser 80i, 4; Isabel Shand 60, 1; Sidney Shand 50, 2; E. Norris 50, 3. Attendance prize: Ferna Herivel. Standard 1., first prize, Jean Burgess, Ada Rowan, and B. Brown 83; 2nd prize, Marian Burgess and Dawson Chrisp 66. Attendance prizes: Eileen Hensliaw, Basil Ilangiuia, Dolly Horne, Mollie Wyllie, and Linda'Bell. All the infant children received cards bearing suitable texts.
