ENTERTAINMENTS.

K PATHE PICTURES. The Pathe Pictures gave their usual’ performance last night at His Majesty’s Theatre. The degree of excellenceset by this company was maintained, and the large attendance received thefilms in a way which must have been gratifying to the management. Ope film alone was sufficient to have provided a draw, and for it alone a visit to the theatre is well worth while. This particular film, under the title of “TheMaking of-a Dreadnought Gun,” takes, tlje onlooker through the great steel works of Messrs Armstrong, at Elswick, being in itself quite an education. Pictures of far-off lands havealways a special fascination, and a series in natural colors of "Colombo and Surroundings” proved most enjoyable, being one of the prettiest conceptions in cinematography yet shown.. here. "The - Children of the Plains” and "For Honor’s Sake” supplied good drama, and "The International Balloon Contest,” “Joan of Arc,” and "Cupid’s Love Darts” were of a most interesting nature. The theatre being otherwise engaged to-morrow, Monday;.. and Tuesday, there will be no performance of Pathe Pictures, but on Wednesday next, 29th December, they will _ re-open with a change of programmo. .
