Mr Raben, Premier of Manitoba, and Mr Hazen, Premier of New Brunswick, favored the contribution by Canada to Britain for the purchase of Dreadnoughts, and deprecated the formation of a tin-pot Canadian fleet". The Conservative Opposition in the Saskatchewan Parliament moved a recommendation for at least one Dreadnought. Ministerailists defeated the motion.:.
