A serious crisis has arisen at Athens. The Military League, which is sustaining the minority of the Government, threatens a dictatorship unless M. Lapathiotis, Minister of War, is reinstated against the wishes of the majority, who really form the Opposition. He recently resigned after insulting MM.' Theotokis and Ralli, supporters of M. Kanari.

THE DEADLOCK ENDED

ATHENS, Dec. 25

The deadlock at Athens is ended. The Military League, discovering that M. Lapathiotis had been . promoting a large number of officers without its knowledge, withdrew Lbs confidence in him. . ■
