Entries for the double sculling races for Mr. Grieve’s trophies have been postponed until to-morrow eyening. At the same time the crews will be selected. During the absence of Mr. A. Kirk, the secretary, in Tologa Bay for a number of weeks, Messrs F. E. Porter and G. Sceats will conjointly carry on his duties. The crews to, take part in'the Licensed Victuallers’ Shield competition will be selected at ap early date. HAGNEY CHALLENGES WEBB. T [Per Press Association.! . WANGANUI, Dgc,*24. Hagney, the New South ' sculler, Vho was third in the Fox ton Handicap, has challenged Webb to row for £2OO, a-side, the winner to' take tho lot. Hagney stipulates that illG race be rowed on the Manawatu river as soon as Webb likes, Webb to have the choice _of the distance, though the championship distance is preferred. Tho visiting scullers are well satisfied with the handicaps for the Wanganui sculling race on January 6 and 7, and predict one of the finest series of races ever seen.
