The victim of the yacht tragedy is an elderly woman named' Curedale, well-known about city haunts.

[An earlier" message was as follows: The body of a woman, name unknown has been found aboard the yacht Banshee, with the throat cut and 'gashed in the abdomen in Jack the Ripper fashion. A man named Thomas, caretaker of the yacht is missing. He left a note stating that he had committed the crime in a frenzy from drink, and that his body would be found in the river. Thomas’ body was found under the yacht.]
