The bowling of Colthart, however, was too good for the remainder of the Tarewa men, and he bagged eight wickets cheaply. Bisdee, of Rakauroa. is unable to ob-. tain leave to take part in the match, and the selector has chosen H. W. Wack, of the Te Rau Club, to fill the vacancy. [Pica Press Association.! NAPIER, Dec. 29. The following comprise the Hawke’s Bay team to plav Poverty Bay: Lusk, Massey, Board, Fenton, Smyrk, Anderson, Baker. O’Brien, Nelson, McLernon, and Harton. PROPOSED AUSTRALIAN TOUR. WELLINGTON, Dec. 29. The Wellington Cricket Association has definitely "refused to participate in the pooling scheme under which the New Zealand Cricket Council has arranged for the tour of an Australian team through the Dominion. It is con. tended by the local association that Wellington is the best town as regards gate receipts in New Zealand, and that it is unfair its profits should go to make up deficits in other centres. During the last visit of the M.C.C. English team Wellington was the only centre in which any material profits were made, and though over £3OO clear was netted, the local association, owing to the participation . scheme under which the tour was carried out, lost considerably. If no compromise is effected it wili mean that the Australians will not • play in Wellington. MANAWATU v. NORTH TARANAKI NEW PLYMOUTH, Dec. 29. The representative circket match, Manawatu v.
