VA LEDICTORY PRESENTATIONS IN CHRISTCHURCH. i Pint I’iucHS Association. I ' CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 30. The Veil. Archdeacon AveriJl, Bisnopelect of Waiapu, and Mrs. Averill, bacie good-bye to the parishioners of St. Michael’s at a garuen party this afternoon. There was a very large attendance, and advantage was taken of the opportunity to present Archdeacon Avenll with a gold episcopal ring, and articles of domestic silverware on behalf of the clergy of the diocese. The accompanying address stated that the clergy desired to avail themselves of the opportunity of expressing their sincere personal esteem, and their appreciation of Archdeacon AveriU s faithful and devoted work, and, at the same time, the hopes entertained of him, and their earnest wishes for his success under the Almighty God, in the high sphere of work to which he lia R been called. In acknowledging the presentation, Arcndeacon Averill stated that he had received a bank slip for £l7O as a small token of appreciation and affection from bis parishioners and the members of the congregation of St. Michael's.
