There were numerous celebrati-.-ns of the Gladstone centenary in London and provinces. Many wreaths Avere placed at the statues at the Strand and Westminster Abbey, one Avas of silver and valued at £240. It Avas received from Bulgaria. There Avere also some Armenian wreaths.
WIDESPREAD CELEBRATIONS. (Received December 30, 10.20 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 30. In connection Avith the Gladstone centenary, the League of Young Liberals, Lord Loreburn presiding, Avelcomed at a luncheon at W estminster the Bulgarian, Armenian, Montenegrin, and Finnish dep\itations. Tributes were paid to the memory of Gladstone as a humanitarian and a friend* of -small nations.
Celebrations in connection Avith the centenary Avere held in Irelaud, NeAV York, Athens, Italy, Eastern Roumelia, Servia, and Capetown. . ... • ,
