At' the inquest on Donaldson,, his son Avas committed for trial for manslaughter.
[Donaldson, a settler, near Inverell, got into debt through Avagermg on his sons in a boxing contest, and consequently attempted to shoot his family Avho lived on his son’s farm. His daughter Avas • but not seriously } arid he missed his Avife. His son got a gun and exchanged shots with his father. The latter ran aavay, and Avas found dead, having been shot twice in the back. His son Avas arrested.]
