JUSTICE DENNISTON.
AN UNFOUNDED REPORT
[Pisu Puess Association.! AVELLINGTON, Jan. 2. The “New Zealand Times” is authorised to deny a statement emanating from Christchurch, that Mr Justice Denniston will retire from the Bench after a year’s holiday, and will then make his home in Scotland. The facts are that Justice Denniston has been suffering for some time from the effects of the strain of his work, and lias been oTanted a. year’s leave of absence from the Ist February. He leaves for England on January 21st. This is his second extended holiday in 21 years. Return tickets have been taken, and there is no intention of, or gromid for, his relU 111S ' CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 2. Mr. Justice Denniston has obtained a year’s leave of absence, and will leave Christchurch' on January 14th to join the Orient liner Orvieto. which is to leave Svdney on January 22nd for London. He will be accompanied by Mrs and Miss Denniston. The statement that His Honor' has resigned and intends to take np .his residence in Scot, land is unfounded.
