ENTERTAINMENTS.

PATHE PICTURES.

Another large holiday audience greeted the second performance of .the Pathe Picture Company’s programme last night. The introduction of the illustrated songs is proving A'ery popular, the artistic siuging of Miss Eva Brady being fully appreciated. One of the great- advantages of the biograph is that it ‘‘opens the minds” of the people, brings before them actualities and truths, and emphasises the importance of national movements Avliich are often forgotten when other interests appeal to the- public. The film depicting “The FloAA r er of Our Navy on the Thames” is quite an eye-opener, showing the strength of our colossal fleet in a comprehensive manner. Few more interesting pictures have been exploited by the cinematograph than the series of “Cigarette Making,” shoAnng the process of' manuiacturo from the plantation to the finished article. The drama is strongly represented, the pick of the subjects being “The Trapoors,” a beautil ully colored film of a most sensational character. The comics are all good, and the scenic subjects, particularly “Niagara in Winter,” are very beautiful. This programme Avill be repeated to-night for the last time, an entire change being given to-morrow eA'ening.
