MURRY AI RACING CLUB—SUMMER MEETING. The summer meeting-of the Murivai Racing Club was held at the club's course, Pakowhai, yesterday, in glo;.ous weather. There was a large attendance, including many visitors from town, and the day passed off pleasantly. The officials of the club did all in thenpower to make the meeting a success, and the judging of Mr. Baker left nothing to be desired. Seven Kekmslters were licensed at a fee of 30s each, hut there was not a great deal of hotting on any of the races. The following are the results ol the racing: Maiden Scurry, of osocs, second horse lsov; 4 furlongs.—Komi haras Ka 9.0 (Tahakara) 1, TV. Daulton's Mystery 9.0 (Bowler) 2, W. Barber’s Pretty Polly (Murray) 3. AV> started: Tauwera 9.0 (Baylv). Ka got well away at the start, and Mystery was left. ' Ka led all the wav, and Mystery r an well up into second phee near the distance, but was unable to oaten the leader, who won rather easily. Heyboy winning very easily bv two lengths, with three lengths sepanting second and third. Stewards’ Handicap, of 7sovs, second horse lsov; 7 furlongs.—C. Hennessy's Kaitoa 10.7 (M. Hennessy) 1, J. Mullooly’s Ivaikuri 11.0 2. The only starters. Kaitoa ran in front all the way in a very slow race, and won by :l length. The stewards held an informal inquiry into the running, but took no action in the matter. Te Kuri Stakes, of osovs, second horse Isovs; 5 furlongs.—H. Russell’s Edna 11.0 (G. Murray) 1, TV. Baker’s Madam 9.7 (Tahakara) 2 C. Hennessy’s Heyboy 12.0 (M. Hennessy) 3. Also started: Kate 9.7 (Foote), Detonator 9.7 (Rowland), Whakarua 9.0 (Bavly), and Mystery 9.0 (Bowler). TVhakarua was left at the post, and Edna took up the running from Madam and Kate, with Heyboy in front of the others. Madam challenged Edna loading into the straight, but the little mare had plenty in hand, and won by two lengths. Heyboy ran into third place, a length and a-half behind Madam. An inquiry was held into the running of Heyboy, it being alleged that lie was not ridden out, and as a result it was decided to administer a caution to M. Hennessy. Summer Cup, of losovs, second horse 2sovs; R miles.—-J. Mullooly’s Kailcuri 11.7 (Paul) 1, M. Hennessy’s Togo 11.7 (M. Hennessy) 2, TV. Daulton’p Matiti 10.5 (Bowler) 3. The cnly starters. Togo led from the' start, but Kaikuri raced op abreast and the pair ran clean away from Matiti, who was tailed off for the rest of the race. The pair raced together all the way round, but once into the straight Kaikuri came away and won comfortably by a length. Matiti was 15 lengths away. New Year Stakes, of ssovs, second horse lsov; 6 furlongs.—C. Hennessy's Kaitoa 10.7 (M. Hennessy) 1, TV. Baker’s Madam 9.7 (Tahakara) 2, A. T. Ngaio’s Te Mua (Foote) 3. Also started : Detonator 9.7 (Murray). Madam and Kaitoa were the first to show out, with the others close up behind. Kaitoa gradually drew ahead, and finishing strongly, won by three lengths, a length separating the other placed horses. Forced Handicap, of osovs, second horse lsov.—J. Mullooly’s Kaikuri 11.7 (Paul) 1, C. Hennessy’s Cakewalk 11.7 ,(M. Hennessy) 2. The only starters. From a good start, Cakewalk jumped to the front and soon established a two lengths lead. Kaikuri,- going well, -drew level at the home turn, ana in a rattling run home beat his rival by a clear length.

The totalisator returns to-day totalled £8931, an increase on the second day of last summer meeting of £3581. The increase for the two days was £3IOB. Bookmakers’ fees totalled £356 10s, showing an increase of £146 for the meeting.
