WELLINGTON WOOL SALES. rj'Kit Phubs Association.] WELLINGTON, Jan. 3. The Wellington. Wool sales opened today. There was a larger attendance of ‘buvers than usual, including French, Yorkshire, American, and Continental. The New Zealand mills were also well represented. Levin and Co. opened the sales with a catalogue of 640 lots. From the outset it was apparent that prices were going to be good. Some clips brought Id per lb better than at the December sale. There was a strong enquiry for the coarser Bradford lots. The top price in the first catalogue was for 10 bales of Loudon Hill clip (halfbred), which brought 123 d and the same grower also received 123 for 19 bales of three-quarterbred. Bidwell’s Featherston Romney clip brought 123 d, and the Fairfield clip reaTised 123 £3)d 123 d Titirangi halfbred clip brought 12d to 123 d." Lambs’ wool brought ]9) f cr a line of 12 bales of Arapata clip.
