BERLIN, Jan. 6
The “Vorwaets,” a Socialist organ, reports that of 600 German workmen employed in' the construction of the Marmora railway to Amazonas, Brazil, 300 died of malaria. Seventy declined to work, and were driven (into the forest, where they suffered intense hardships and 100 were sent back to Hamburg.
