The Land Board to-day passed a resolution, “That the inspection, classification, and subdivision of the pastoral runs in Canterbury and district, whiert revert to the Crown on March 1, 1911, not- having been completed at the time of disposal of the runs on the due date, the Board is of opinion that an extension of time should be granted for classification, the Commissioner to ensure complete and thorough classification of the runs, and that His Excellency the GoA’crnor he recommended to give the present lessees of runs temporary graz_ ing licenses for a period of one year from March 1, 1911’. in terms of section--255 of the Land Act, 1905.” CHARGE OF ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. A smart capture was effected this evening by Detective Miller, stationed at Lyttelton. About five o’clock word was received in Christchurch that a man wanted' for having forged and uttered a- cheque for £IOO on the Bank of New Zealand at Oamnru, was believed to be attempting to leave by the Sydney steamer. Information was forwarded to Lyttelton with tlio result) that Detective Millor found and arrested the wanted man.
