GISBORNE TOURING TEAMS
(Special to “Times.”) WELLINGTON, Jan. 7. The whole of the Gisborne bowlers are now in Wellington, the sea voyagers arriving this morning, and the delayed train travellers by this afternoon’s express.
The delayed bowlers played a team at Dannevirke yesterday afternoon and defeated them by 29 to 17.
On the Wellington green this afternoon, Ponsford’s rink, with Nasmith as substitute for Robertson, played Bell’s rink. In the first game Ponsford was beaten by 21 to 13, but in a second essay the tables were turned, Ponsford winning by 20 to 15. The tournament opens at 8.45 a.m. on Monday, when the first round in the G section takes place on> the Wellington green. Turanganui plays Barraud (Thorndon) at 9.15, against Mack (Victoria) in the second round at 12.30, and versus Fisher (Carterton) in the third round at 4 p.m. In the I section, Ponsford meets McLeod (Ponsonby) on Tliorndon green in the first round, Webb (Wellington) in the second round, and Smith (Napier) in the third round.
