NAPIER WOOL SALES
rpiill Press ASSOCIATION. 1 NAPIER, Jan. 7. The wool sale was concluded this morning, and considering that the offerings were not as good in quality as those submitted in and that the wool was in heavier condition, prices are generally regarded as satisfactory, Comparatively few lots were passed in. The coarser qualities of wool sold remarkably well and advanced from id to per lb, while medium qualities were sold at par to Jd under last sales. The great feature of the sale was the strong demand for lambs’ wool, also for good qualities of pieces and locks for the Continent, and high prices were realised in consequence. A line of slipe halfbred lambs’ wool from John A. Macfarlane’s Ben Lomond station realised 14Jd. A lino of half-bped fleece wool grown by Lachlan McLean, of Glencoe Station, Maraeka'kaho, fetched 14gd.
