Test night the police raided a house o i L mime, and arrested Mar v Davis, the owner, and Minnie Goodman, FreueTick Allan, and Rickard Rich-M,-ds alias Richardson, who were round on the premises. The first-named was charged with keeping the house, ami the other three with being Kilo and disorderly persons. Davies was .sentenced to one month s imprisonment, and Allan, who has. a bad record, to three months’ imprisonment. Goodman was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, provided she remained in the Samaritan Home for McGrath stated in regard to Richards that he had Den working in the country for some time, and had £SO in the post office, when he came to town.. He had alien in with Davis, Goodwin, and Allan, and had soon spent the money. As far as he (the Sup-Inspector) could gather, Richards was a hard-working .nan. and the police had nothing against him He'would, therefore offer no evidence. On looking at the accused in the dock, however, he noticed that he was in a very shaky condition, and he suggested a remand for a v/eel: The Magistrate accordingly reminded him till next Saturday
