MASON WINS THE CHAMPIONSHIP
TPeR PIIKBS AsSOOIATION.f AUCKLAND, Jan. 8.. The final game for the ckess championship concluded this morning. Grierson’s settled move was probably not his strongest. Mason pushed on his attack, ringing a piece on the 24th move. Later on he added a pawn, with the disorganised position of Grierson’s forces, and on the 41st move Grierson resigned.
