VOLUNTEER ORDERS.
EAST COAST MOUNTED RIFuES. Captain C. Hellier Evans has issued the following orders for January Inspection ‘Parade. —The squadron will parade, mounted, on Saturday, 22nd, January, 1910, at the polo paddock, Makauri, at 3 p.m. sharp tor in. spection by Lieutenant-Colonel Russell, officer commanding tlie 4tli' Regiment, W.M.R. Dress: Marching order with haversacks. Horse- furniture to be complete. Troop leaders will arrange thenown troon parades, and must be ready for inspection at 2.50 sharp. Every member of the squadron is expected to attend, and absentees will be fined. Ilie officers and non-commissioned officers will attend at, Garrison Hall at / .30 p ni. the same evening for the purpose of instruction by Lieutenant-Colonel Russell. , , -. Troop Parades. —The place, date, and time of dismounted troop parades during the month will be arranged by troop leaders. . . .. Examination of non-commissioned officers. —Advice lias been received that the following non-commissioned officers have nassed the prescribed examination, and their appointments arc confirmed: Sergeant, J. S. Wauchop, Corporals, C. H. Beat-son, W. L. Coleman, MacDonald, and McLernon, Lancc-Corpor. als Sefton and Gumming. Class firing.—Members are again reminded that class firing must be completed before 25th February next, and, as the course is a long one, it is necessary that those who have not vet done, their firing should commence at once. GISBORNE RIFLES. The company orders for January, issued by Captain Boero, are:— The company will parade at the Garrison Hall as under: January 14tlg at 7.15 p.m., drill order; 21st. at 7.30 p.m., full dress; 28th, at 7.15 p.m., drill order. All class firing must now be completed as rapidly as possible and in order to facilitate this the following fixtures will he carried out:—January Bth. 100 and 200 yards ; 13 and 15, 100 and 200 yards; 20 and 22, 300 and 400 yards ; 27 and 29, 500 and 600 yards. AU members must attend and complete tlie ranges required to capitate. Every member must attend all parades from now till the end of the volunteer year.
-No' leave will be granted except in urgent cases, application for winch must be made in writing.
