QUARTERLY meeting

The quarterly meeting of the Railway Superannuation Board was held in Wellington to-day, and was attended by Mr. T. Ronayne, general manager of railways (ill the chair). Dr. Fitcliett (Solicitor-General), Mr. G. W. Poynton (Public Trustee), Mr. M. Isaacs (First Division North Island), Mr. A. Graham, of Port Chalmers (First Division South Island), Messrs G. Peppei, of Wanganui, and M. Thomas, of Invercargill (representatives of the Second Division), and Mr. R. W. McVilly (chief clerk of the Department). llio secretary, Mr. Dawson, of Christchurch (Second Division), owing to indisposition, was unable to he present. Twen-ty-one life allowances were granted, the annual payments totalling £1297. Allowances were mado to nine widows, with sixteen children, the annual charge being £370. The Board also made refunds of contributions to 90 exofficers and employees. >
