VESSELS IN PORT. Fairburn, a.s. Messrs Richardson and Co.'s Rum arrived from Napier early yesterday morning, bringing 14-50 Tasmanian posts ex' Lauderdale. 30 tons general c.n to, and 2 bulls. The Rum returned hi jhe afternoon, her cargo being 152 boles nr wool, and a quantity or genera!. Over 70 bales are for sale at Napier, the remainder to be transhipped” to the Clan MacLaren. The auxiliary schooner Fairburn returned early yesterday morning from Tologa Bay, with 30tf bales of wool. Tie 'should return to-morroiv evening for another load. The U.S.S. Co.’s Taraivera arrives from Southern ports this morning, leaving during the afternoon for Auckland. The Tuatea goes out at 6 a.m. and at noon. The following have hooked passages: —Air. and Airs. The Huddart-Parker Co.’s AYimmera arrives from Sydney and Auckland this afternoon, reaving during the evening hi: South.- The Tuatea goes out on arrival and again at 7 p.m. At 3.30 yesterday afternoon the lighthouse-keeper at Tuahine Point reported that a large four-masted steamer, yellow funnel, was passing northwards', outside the Ariel reef. The contractor for the Harbor Board’s new lighter, Air. O. F. Overton.. is pushing the work on rapidly, and expects the lighter will he ready to take the water in a few weeks time. Tnere are fourteen men employed in the yard at present, and three others are expected from Auckland to-day, so th.it tlie contract should be completed well within time. Work on one of the hopper barges is also going on satisy f.'H'tovily, and the other will shortly be’ commenced. A quantity of kauri was unloaded from the Squall yesterday for the work. Messrs Robb Bros, have received advice that the schooner Waiapu was ready to sail on Saturday from Auckland, bringing a cargo of coal and drain pipes for that firm. The New Zealand Shipping Co.’s chartered steamer Swanley arrives from Auckland on Alonday, and loads approx: irately 3000 bales of wool and a quantity of tallow before proceeding to Napier. The U.S.S. Co.’s Flora is due on Saturday morning from Napier. She leaves the same day for Auckland, via Coast ports. The Sheepfarmers’ Company have received advice that the s.s. Kairakj leaves Lyttelton to-morrow for Wellington. Napier, and Gisborne, being due at Gisborne on Sunday. The "Westport Coal Co.’s Regulus is due this evening, bringing a cargo of coal from Westport. Tlie U.S.S. Co.’s Wanaka is expected to load at Bluff on January 17th, Oam.aru on the 18th, Timnru on the 19th. and should arrive at Gisborne about .January 22nd. It Y 7EL nr;HARM. AUCKLAND, Jan. 11.
