CONFERENCE- AT TIMARU.

rpicn Pitosß Association.! TIMARU, Jan. 14. At the Primitive Methodist Conference to-day at 5.30 a.m., the examining committee heard a probation sermon bv the Rev. H. AA bite, New Plymouth. At 10 a.in. the ordinary business was resumed and continued all day. The conference extended a cordial welcome to five ministers recently from Home, the Revs. G. Knowles Smith. J. B. Suckling, S. Bandy, H. Cotta in. and A. H. Fowles. It was decided to grant the request of the Christchurch station for a division constituting Cambridge Terrace and Edgware Road as a first station, and Sydenham and' Linwoo'd as a second station, a : married minister to be appointed to tho second station. Tho request of the Dunedin station for a division, was granted. This constitutes tho three churches in the south of tho city, the second station of the first circuit having five churches. Each station is to have two ministers. Leave of absence to visit England was granted the Rev. AA T . S. Potter, Wellington, and the Rev. J. Guy, New Plymouth. _ , The request of the Taranaki Synod for an extra agent at East Egmont was granted. It was agreed to employ Air Chartcris (the boy'preadier) as Home missionary with a. view to.him qualifying for a Priniative Methodist! ministry • Various reports dealt with showed that on missions the average contribution per church member for the past year was 3s 7’d. The Fire Insurance Fund was shown to be in a/healthy condition, £IBOO in credit, which sum cut out the church properties profit for the year at £167. The total claims for losses during the year was £5 os. The Rev. R. Raine delivered an address as retiring, president, and the visiting delegates were welcomed to town by the Mayor and different local institutions.
