NATIVE LABOR SCARCE

United Press Association —Copyright SYDNEY, Jan. 15.

The Commissioner for New Hebrides is visiting Sydney en route for France. He states that owing to the scarcity of native labor in the group there is a proposal afoot to introduce Javanese laborers. He intends to submit to his Government a scheme to introduce a thousand Javanese. The proposal has the support of the British Resident and the British and French settlers.
