Apropos of raising loans for municipal works, Mr. Vigor Brown, M.P. (according to the Hawke’s Bay “Herald”), is of opinion that there is now no difficulty in the way of obtaining the proposed loan of £134,250 for Napier municipal works,, the State Guaranteed Advances Bill having become law. The Town Clerk, he states, will now send formal application to the Government, and it will be considered with the others. Mr. Brown realises that there will be a large number of applications, but points out that Napier will not require the whole of its amount in one year, but extending over two or three years. Thus, he thinks, the money can be got as required, and a large sum saved in interest.
