Winter will meet W. Third, G. Peterson is to meet G. Whitfield, and L. Nicolas will row J. McConnell. The committee meet this evening, when crews will be picked to race for Mr. Reg. Wilkinson’s medals. GISBORNE CLUB. A committee meeting of the Gisborne Roiviiig Club was held last evening, Mr C J. Hamilton being in the chair. Apologies Avere received from Messrs Williams and Saa-gisson. J. Graham AA r as appointed substitute in Hudson’s ere\\ r in place of Ansell. It Avas decided that no late entry could be received for the Schumacher Cup and also to obtain a sot of oars and a neAv pair of sculls. Mr E. Traill Avas elected a member of the Club. The folloiving draw took place for the Schumacher Cup:—Monday.—F. Traill, a bye; G. Puflett v. Hansen; Hamilton v. Bayly; E. Traill v. Somervell. Tuesday.—Winner of Puflett and Hansen v. F. Traill; Avinner of Hamilton and Bayly v. Winner of E. Traill and Somervell. Wednesday.—Final. The draws in the B grade are: — Monday. —Payne and Hudson a bye; Gallop meets Everiss and Malone meets Muhnhill. Tuesday.—Hudson v. Aviner of Gallop and EA r eriss ; winner of Malone and Mulvihill v. Payne. Wednesday.—Final. It Avas decided to take entries for the “Muir Cup” on the 26th inst., saich race to he confined to "A” grade members and a double-scull event for '“B” grade members to close on the samedate. The latter race is for a trophy presented by the Post and Telegraph staff. Mr Hackett was appointed starter for the races next Aveek and Mr Muir judge. AMATEUR ROWING ASSOCIATION. [Feb Press Association.! WELLINGTON, Jan. 17. The Council of the New Zealand Amateur Rowing Association met to-night. The Mercer Rowing Club Avas granted affiliation. The action of the Auckland RoAvmg Association in removing from the membership roll the name of 'a man avlio took part in the Foxton professional handicap under an assumed name was approA^ea. In order te prevent a recurrence at the championship regatta- at Picton of Avliat took place on NeAV Year’s Day it Avas decided to draw the attention of th& Marlborough Association to rule 16, which proA'ides that all championship events must be roAvcd in smooth water.
