PERSONAL.

Mr. A. W. Hogg. M.P., is in very indifferent health at present, due, it is believed, to the effect of the recent continuous long sittings of the House. Mr. Hogg has been ordered by his medical adviser to have a holiday, and a complete rest for a time. Mrs. J. Y. Stevenson an old resident of Auckland, passed away at her residence, Glenholm, Remuera, yesterday morning. The deceased, who was a daughter of the date Mr. Archibald Clark, came out to New Zealand from Scotland in 1849, and in 1862 was married to Mr. J. Y. Stevenson, a partner in the firm of Arch. Clark and 'Sons, Ltd. Her husband died many years ago. After his death Mrs. Stevenson proceeded to tlie Old Country and resided there for some eight years, after which she returned to Auckland, and she has continued to reside there ever since. She leaves three sons and five daughters, three of whom are married viz. Mrs. R. Rose. Mrs. Seavil, and'Mrs.' B. Dawson. The eldest son is Mr. A. Stevenson, of the firm of Arch. Clark and,Sons, Ltd., and the other two are farming at. Waingaro. Deceased was. a sister of Messrs. Matthew Clark and Archibald Clark. She had a wide circle of friends, and her death is greatly regretted. .
