PATHE PICTURES. Another exceedingly good house greeted the Pathe Pictures last night, the performance .’being greatly appreciated. As usual all the films were presented in a beautiful clear and lifelike manner, clearly demonstrating* that the projecting machine is in most capable hands. The picture depicting “The Harbor of Copenhagen,” _ with its up-to-date shipping conveniences, was again the centre of much interest, round upon round of applause following the termination of the film. Tonight is the last night- of this programme, an entire change being given to-morrow (Saturday). This new series of films is an exceedingly fine lot, but, unfortunately, owing to the theatre being engaged on Monday and Tuesday, its presentation is limited to two performances only—viz., a grand matinee to-morrow afternoon, at 2.30, and the usual evening performance at 8 o’clock. Some of the star films to be included on these two occasions are “The Death of Mozart,” “A Royal Marriage in India,” “When Jack Comes Home,” “The Duke's Jesters,” “The Victim,”, and a splendid educational subject depicting in detail the perfumery industry. HACKENSCHMIDT. George Hackenschmidt, the worldrenowned Russian wrestler, will commence a series of two exhibitions of liis powers as a wrestler and his splendid physical development at His Majesty’s' Theatre on Monday next. 'Hackenschmidt had acquired fame as a 'cyclist, a runner, and a swimmer before ever he took to wrestling, in •which department he holds an unbeaten record. He is in the very prime of liis capabilities,, being only 32 years of age, and, besides performing feats of wrestling with Gunner Moir and Alexander Bain, a celebrated Scottish athlete, in all the approved styles, he will appear in picturesque poses illustrative of ancient classical studies, and give educational exhibitions of his training methods, as well as tests of endurance. A physical culture expert who accompanies him will give detailed descriptions of his various exercises, and there will also be biograph films reproducing the champion’s various international contests. A miscellaneous entertainment is also to be presented, in the shape of monologue items, magic, mirth, and melody, by Clifford Eskell, Mark Osborne, and other artists now to the Dominion. Box plans for both displays are now on view at Miller’s.
