At a meeting of the executive of the New Zealand Athletic Union, it was decided to declare the Wanganui Caledonian Society’s, sports meeting, to be held on Saturday, to be an unregistered meeting, and to disqualify all who compete. thereat. Strained relations have occurred between the Union and' the League of Wheelmen, it being stated that, the latter has not- held to the agreement with, the Union in connection, with the trouble with the Wanganui and Southland Caledonian tiesAt the annual conference of the Union the West Coast centre will move that the: Union take over the control of cycling. ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION-PERMITS SENT TOO LATE. At a. meeting of the Otago centre of the New Zealand 1 Athletic Association to-night, the chairman, Mr C. E. Iveast, brought up the. matter of permits granted by the League of Wheelmen, some of which reached the! sports meetings the day after the races were run. It was resolved that the. action of the Eltham Society be supported, and that if such permits are issued the reciprocal agreement between the Association ana the League will be cancelled.
