GISBORNE CLUB. A considerable number of members of the Gisborne BoAvling Club Avere on their„ green yesterday. Several practice- games, and one in the Colts’ Singles, Avere nlayed. In the latter Grieve beat Pasley by one point, 20 to 19. TURANGANUI CLUB. At the Turanganui BoAvling Club’s gren yesterday afternoon, a match in olio Bennett Cup competition Avas played. The result Avas : M. G. Nasmith, junr., 22 beat T. McConnell 12.—Up to the 6th head the game, showed honors oven Avith 4 all, but Nasmith then put on a break Avith tAvo threes and a four, thus getting a substantial lead, AVihich McConnell tried hard to overtake. On the 14th head McConnell avos eight doAvn, 8 to 16, and Nasmith won easily at tlie finish by ten points. INTER-CLUB MATCH. The second match -of the season in the A grade between the Gisborne and Turanganui Clubs takes place on the latter club’s- green on Thursday afternoon. Great interest is being evinced by local boAvlers in the contest, and a keen “go” is expected. Each ciub Avill lie represented by three rinks. In the first match bctAvecn the tAvo clubs this season Turanganui Avas successful by one point, and should the club succeed in Avilining the match on Thursday they Avill Avin the rubber and Mr. Witty’s pennant. Should the Gisborne Club bo successful, another contest must ensue at a later date to decide the rubber. All local howlers are invited to bo present, and lady friends are especially Avelcome. Afternoon tea is to be provided.
