The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates’ summary and forecast: Ihe weather has been very warm and humicl everywhere. The barometer has risen and fallen again, especially in the , 'mth. Westerly winds have prevailed, cecept on the east coast, and increased this afternoon to a gale in Foveaux Strait and on the west coast, of tne fie,nth Island. Present indications ape for the passage of a smart westerly disturbance southward of New Plymouth a id Napier, a westerly gale probably v’t-h rain, strong westerlies and changec’lle weather, possibly with electrical disturbances, further north.
