Mr. Cecil King, late of the staff of the Gisborne branch of the Union Bank, has taken the position of purser on the auxiliary schooner Kaeo, which left for Auckland yesterday evening. Prior to leaving the ban'k, Mr. King was presented by the manager, on behalf of the staff, with a case of pipes as a. farewell gift. A Press Association telegram from Napier states that the Rev. Frank Tucker, of Thames, has intimated his 1 willingness to accept a call to the Taradale. Clive Presbyterian charge. The University’ Senate, sitting at Dunedin- yesterday, decided to grant the following Ad Eundem degrees to graduates From other universities: — : John Armstrong Neave, 8.A., London, to B.A. degree, New Zealand University; James A. D. Mulholland, Glasgow, to M. 8., Ch.B., New Zealand; Percival R. Waddy, Sydney, to 8.A., LL.B., New -Zealand; Arthur W. H. Compton, Cantab., to the degree of M.A., New Zealand. Mr. H. B. Williams, Turebau, was a passenger for Napier by the s.s. Victoria- last evening.
