WOODVILLE AGRICULTURAL SHOW.
A SUCCESSFUL EXHIBITION. (Pick Pnksb Association.l WOODVILLE, Jan. 26. The eighteenth annual show held under tho auspices of the Bush Districts Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held here to-day, and was an unqualified success. 'The weather was delightful, and consequently the attendance was large, especially of ladies. During the afternoon the competitions were n great attraction, every event passing off without a hitch or an accident. The officials deserve great praise for tho manner, in which they attended to everything. The entries in the stock classes were slightly fewer than last year, but those that know were satisfied that the quality was superior to anything over exhibited herein the thoroughbred classes Air. A. Laing’s Glen Cowrie was first and champion, and the same gentleman received first and champion for a marc. The hack classes were well filled. In tho 15-stone classes AY. H. Gaisford’s Columbine was first: 13-stone, AY. Id. Gaisford’s Good Night first, AA 7 . S. Nelson’s Dick second ; 11-stone, Airs. H. AL Campbell’s AA’haiapo first. AV. J. Sodcole’s Caloola second ; trap horse, J. S. Nelson’s Dick first; ladies’ hacks, Airs. Campbell’s AVhaiapo first, J. S. Nelson’s Dick second, AA’. J. Sedcolo’s Caloola third. In draughts Jas. Bcagley’s Glen Offis was first and the best stallion. In cattle, Holstein-Friesian, bull, AA*. Remnant’s was first and champion; cow. J. B. A'eale’s first and champion. Ayrshire®—C. AAoodliey won most prizes and championship. Jerseys—Bull, -T. S. Nelson first and champion; cow, R. Lancaster first and champion • In sheep. Lincolns (a good class), H. Gaisford was first and champion for ram. D. McDonald first and champion for owe. Border Leicester:-; —H. B Blvthp first and champion for ram, X. P. Xeilson first and champion for owe. English Leicesters—S. R. Lancaster, the only exhibitor, secured all prizes ami .Championship. Romneys (good competition)—G. E. Allen first and champion lor ram, J. E. Hewitt first and champion for ewe._ South-downs.—Ram. r. G. L. McKenzie first and champion; ewe, S. R. Lancaster first and champion. In crossbreds, AY. H. Nelson secured most of the prizes. / In fat sheep, honors were divided between J. H. Harding, H. Gaisford, and AY. H. Nelson. The competitions resulted as follows: Pony Leaping—No. 1: A. AA 7 .
