LORD KITCHENER’S VISIT.
LOCATING- THE AUCKLAND ENCAMPMENT.
[Peii Pnnss Association.! AUCKLAND, Jan. 28. In connection with x.ord Kitchener’s visit, arrangements are proceeding for the mobilisation of the volunteer forces on March 1. It is likely that the encampment will be held somewhere about Manurewa or Papakura, although no site has yet been definitely settled. A suggestion has been put forward that the Domain would' be tlie best point for centralisation, that the field marshal would just as easily put the forces through field operations from there ns anywhere else. Colonel Wolfe is making a final inspection of the different sites proposed to-day, but it is understood that Papakura or Manurewa will be given preference. Of the 6500 comprising the Auckland forces it is hoped that about 3000 will go into camp on March 1.
