AN INTERESTING BANKRUPTCY.

• AUCKLAND, Feb, 8. A statement of the affairs of Meredith Soule, of Kamo (Whangarei), who was lately adjudged bankrupt on a creditor’s petition, has been filed with the Official. Assignee. The bankrupt was formerly 'Presbyterian pastor at 'Hikurangi. and some time ago lie had lawsuits with the church authorities in regard to the disputed possession of an organ, and alleged arrears of stipend. In both cases he was unsuccessful. He states that while at Hikurangi his stipend was• considerably in arrears, and that liis income was less than £75 a year. His arrears amounted to about £IOO, but when he sued for this amount and other .monies said to he duo to him, ho was non-suited. The liabilities are shown as £246, and the assets at £l4O leaving a deficiency of •£lO6.
