TE ARAI RACES. The Te Arai Racing Club’s annual meeting is- to take place on the club’s course, Te Arai, to-day. Messrs Redstones’ brakes will leave for the course at 11.30 a.m.
TAKAPUNA RACES

There was perfect weather for the last day of the Takapuna races. The attendance was large. The following were die results: —
Waiwera Handicap Hurdles, 15 miles.—Armagh ,9.9 1, King 9.0 2, Leo 11.2 3. Also started: lui Cakobau 10.4 and Celtic 9.4. Won pulling up bv three lengths. Time, 3min 19 1-5 nee.
Borough Handicap, 4 furlongs.—Hohungatahi 8.9 1, All’s Well 7.5 2, Tarina 8.6 3. Also started: Turbine 5.6, Maheno 8.0, Hikuia 8.0, Lady Frances 7.1, Rob the Ranter 7.0, Lady Betty 6.13, Pairawaatu 6.13, and Lady _Dot 6.13, Won easily. Time, 51 3-ssec. After the race the stewards held an inquiry into the running of Hohungatalii as compared with his effort on the opening day. The explanation given of it was accepted as satisfactory. .Summer Handicap, 1 mile.—Coromandel 7.8 1, Miss Winnie 8.1 2. Elegance 6.9 3. Also ran: Loch Buhie 5.3. Rauparaha 7.8, Miss Advance 7.9. and Aristocrat. Miss Winnie looked like winning, but Coromandel put in a great finish, and snatched victory by a short head. Time, lmin 44 2-ssec. CANTERBURY J.C. MEETING

The Canterbury Jockey Club’s summer meeting was concluded to-day in fine but windy weather. The attendance- was better than on Thursday ,_ but the totalisator investments again showed a decrease, the amount being £4466, as against £6359 last year. Bookmakers’ fees totalled £220. The folio wine were the results: — Richmond Plate, 5 furlongs.—Kora 7.8 1, Countermine B.S 2, Direetoire 7.4 3. Also started Martine 7.7 and Acliray 6.9 (carried 7.0) AVon by a neck. Time, lmin 3 2-5. Perm weighed out, but, while doing liis preliminarv, ran into the fence. His rider, S. Murfitt was badly shaken, and bad bis wrist broken, and the stewards allowed the horse to be withdrawn. Limvood Welter Handicap, 11- miles. —Guianforte 9.11 1, Lovelorn 7.11 2, On than der 9.6 3.
