A PRINTER’S SAD END

A man named KingsmTl, a printer hr trade, was found in a dying condition in the scrub beyond Avondale. He died subsequently from want of nourishment and from exposure.
A CHILD- DROWNED. PAHL4TUA, Feb. 7. George Miller, aged 8. son of a Ngatnri settler, was drowned in the Tiraumea river yesterday. He slipped off a ledge into the water, and though the father recovered the bndv. he could not resusciate it.
ANOTHER BATHING FATALITY
WELLINGTON, Feb. 7. , While bathing with seme smaller children at Kilbirnie this evening, Eric Gibson, aged about 12 years, was drowned. A man named Hunt, went in and brought the boy out when it was observed that he was in trouble, but tlie hid was then unconscious, and did not recover, though restorative efforts were continued for over two hours. „ DROWNING AT WESTPORT.'
' WESTPORT, Feb. 7. The bodv has not yet been, recovered of Patrick Burke, road 'contractor, who fell into the Bidler River from tlie .wharf on Friday night. Esmond, an A.B. of the Hauroto. made a gallant, lmt unsuccessful attempt to rescue him.
KILLED BY A FALL OF STONE. GREYMOUTH, Feb. 7. George Strongman, residing at Cobden, a married man, was killed instantaneously by a'fall of stone at midday at No. 1 State mine.
THE NEW BRIGHTON' DROWNING ■ CASE. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 7. No word has been received as to the recovery of.the bodies of the two young men who -were drowned, yesterday at New Brighton.
