A TRAP FOR THE LORDS.
SET BY A VVELSHAIAN
Addressing an overflow meeting at a Welsh chapel in Llanelly on. December 23, Air. Lloy-d-Gcorge said: I am a Welshman, and when I go to the House of Lords sometimes and stand by the throne listening to questions affecting my fellow-countrymen being scoffed at. by blood boils within me. Remember this: Males is only a laughing-stock in the eyes of the House of Lords. But the day of reckoning is at hand. Whatever measuic is presented to the House of Lords, if it he labelled “AVales,” to the rubbish heap it goes. (“Shame.”) Lord Cawdor, who lives on th e rents of the country and the fat of the land, rises occasionally in the House and belittles measures affecting AVales. They are in the trap, and when I recall the contemptuous things said of Wales on Welsh questions I am glad to think that it is a~Welshman who has set the trap. '(Prolonged cheers.) AA T e have caught the.large rats at last. They will not destroy our measures much more, and there will be rejoicing in our land when we see the House of Lords set aside, when we see a clear path to the. throne of King Edward VTL, when we see- a clear path for education, land, and religious equality. Then tho song of AVales will re-echo through its hills ami dales—a- song that has not- been equalled since, the song of Miriam after the Red Sea had been •crossed.
