MUSIC HALL STAR IN TROUBLE.
ACCUSER OF SWINDLING A
JEWELLER
United Press Association— Copyright LONDON, Eeb. 8. La Milo, a music hall artist, Ferdinand Eggena her husband, and Percy Easton, motor ear agent, have been charged at the Bow Street Court with obtaining £7OOO worth of jewellery by false pretences from \Y. Wood, jeweller, of Brook street London. It is alleged that Eggena represented himself as the owner of 25 cars, and obtained the jewellery, and afterwards pawned it La Milo, on behalf of Eggena, had previously attempted to pawn a pearl necklace worth £30,000. The accused were remanded. Eggena was allowed hail in £2OOO, Easton in £2OOO, and La Milo in £SOO.
[La Milo is a music hall “Star” famous for her beauty, which is claimed to rival that of the famous Venus of Milo, the ancient Greek statue accepted as typical of female beauty.]
