a.: rived from Napier yesterday morning, with a quantity of timber and posts, and 16 polo ponies. In the evening she returned, tutting 140 bales of wool, a number of racehorses, and a ful] bertlir! K? of passengers. The auxiliary schooner Fairburn returned from Tologa Bay at- 2.30 yesterday afternoon, with 330 bales of vroi for transhipment to the Whakata.ne. She. left about midnight for Pakarae for a further load, and should re turn this evening. The U.S.S. Co.’s Mokoia arrives from South this morning, and leaves later for Auckland. The Tuatea goes out at 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. The. follow, ing passengers have booked by the Mokoia : Misses Moore, Burch, Hears, O’Keefe, O’Rourke. Jones, Pritchard, Haves. Mattocks, Cussen; Mesdames Widdowson and infant, Hamilton, Foster, Moore, Judd and infant, Barker and 2 children., Jones and infant. Most and son, Paltridge and child, Haisman, Newton; Messrs Foster. The XJ.S.S. Co.'s Tarawera returns fj om Auckland to-morrow afternoon, and proceeds South in the evening. The Tuatea will tender her on arrival ami with outward passengers at 5 p.m. The Tarawera will take a big list of passengers and . a number of racehorses. The U.S.’S. Co.’s Flora is expected to return from South on Wednesday next. When the dredge John Townley w’s a.;, work yesterday afternoon near the wharf, a little distance above the Tuat/ea’s berthage, the grab stuck’ in the mud, and one of the wires carried away. After some trouble the grab was released. The wire will b e fixed, and the dredge will probably resume work to-day. The "Westport Coal Co.’s Regulus left Westport yesterday afternoon for Gisborne, and is due this evening or tomorrow morning, with coal. Messrs Richardson and Co.’s Weka arrives from Napie. r this*morning, with timber and general, cargo, and orobably gets away in the evening for Napier. The s.s. Kairaki is to leave Lyttelton .to-day for Gisborne, and should arrive tm Tuesday evening. She brings a cargo of produce, and returns with fiheep. (Sheepfarmers’ Co., agents.)
